The yearbook’s 29 authors found Covid-19—a key theme in most chapters—to have had an impact on global terrorism. However, pervasive online social media platforms have played a more significant role, increasing terrorists’ ability to radicalize and incite individuals to commit terrorist acts, as well as encouraging financial support to terrorist groups.
