How Erdogan Will Get the F-35

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s administration has implemented fake political reforms for Biden’s Washington. Erdogan recently launched a comprehensive reform process; this includes human rights reforms and claims to establish a new democratic constitution. These reforms are no more than red herrings: these calculated reforms, leverage used in Washington to become part of the F-35 program. Ankara’s Washington’s strategy revolves around a recently hired lobbyist to end F-35 program expulsion.

The Turkish defense industry hired Stephen Williams, a former executive of Lockheed Martin, who manufactures the F-35 fighter jet, to re-enter a program to produce and buy the aircraft.

Williams, Lockheed Martin’s former regional president for Continental Europe, has registered his Alexandria-based firm Pentagon Strategies under the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) of the U.S. Department of Justice, news website Foreign Lobby Report said.
