If there is another military campaign in the north, the IDF will have to shorten the duration of the conflict – otherwise the cost to the home front will be intolerable. Achieving this goal will not be possible without forceful and decisive ground maneuver. Decisions on IDF force buildup will determine whether the army is prepared for maneuvering of this sort. This was delineated two and a half years ago in a document by the chairmen of the relevant subcommittees of the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense committee, and today it is more relevant than ever
