The new flight joins a line by Iran’s Mahan Air which has run between Tehran and Beirut for years.
The Saudi Al-Arabiya channel reports that the Iranian “Meraj airline” owned and run by the Revolutionary Guards has begun operating a flight line to Beirut International Airport.
According to the report, the first flight to Beirut took place on November 14. According to the sources who spoke with Al-Arabiya, these flights may carry weapons and sensitive equipment for Hezbollah.
It was also reported that Israel fears that Beirut’s airport will connect to the weapons smuggling route from Iran to Lebanon. It should be noted that the flights of that company also land every week at Damascus International Airport.
