North Korea reveals Haeil-2 undersea ‘nuclear attack drone’ test for first time
State media says it traveled hundreds of miles and detonated ‘trial warhead’ off east coast of peninsula.
The Haeil-2 unmanned underwater vehicle (UUV) reportedly set off from Kajin Port in Kumya County on the northeast coast and traveled a total distance of 621 miles (1,000 km) “along an oval and figure-of-eight course” over a duration of around 71 hours.
The Haeil-2 on Friday successfully detonated a “trial warhead” near Ryongdae Port in Tanchon City, not far from its starting point, according to the Rodong Sinmun.
