
Several weeks ago, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif travelled once again to Moscow for talks with his Russian counterpart, Sergei Lavrov. As usual, they issued a most positive communique, but behind the nice words there lies friction between these two actors in the Syrian conflict, among other regional sectors of operation.
