This StoryMap presents findings from an investigation report by Syrian Archive and Open Society Justice Initiative , in collaboration with ArcticWind, into the Scientific Studies and Research Center (SSRC), the Syrian government agency at the heart of Syria’s chemical weapons program.
Branch 450 is one of the most important branches of the SSRC. It is located within Institute 1000 in the Jamraya Center.
Due to its highly sensitive activities, Branch 450 is not linked to an institute like other branches. It is under the direct supervision of the Presidential Palace itself.
The Syrian government has committed more than two hundred chemical weapons attacks since August 2013.
