Iran Building Nuclear Weapons

Iran has resisted all efforts by the IAEA to cooperate and fully reveal its nuclear programs, providing what is known as both a correct and complete nuclear declaration, a necessary step in the IAEA process of determining that Iran’s nuclear program is peaceful. Nonetheless, the IAEA has accumulated a large body of evidence that Iran is hiding nuclear materials and activities associated with its nuclear weapons program. In the last few years, the IAEA has discovered undeclared nuclear materials and activities at four sites in Iran: three called Marivan, Varamin, and Lavisan-Shian, are linked to facilities and activities of the […]

COMBINED ARMS WARFARE AND UNMANNED AIRCRAFT SYSTEMS, A NEW ERA

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Unmanned aircraft systems (UASs) have played an important role in warfare over the past two decades, including for counterterrorism operations. But there has been a growing debate about their utility for competition and interstate war—including between major powers such as the United States and China. For some, UASs are creating a “revolution in military affairs,” which will fundamentally reshape military doctrine, organization, force structure, operations, and tactics. For others, however, the effectiveness of UASs has been overstated, and UASs will likely have limited utility in highly contested environments. To better understand the utility of UASs, this report asks […]

RUSSIAN EMP THREAT

The best-known electromagnetic pulse source is a nuclear weapon detonated high above the target in the atmosphere. Today, smaller, non-nuclear weapons can generate EMP, allowing for its tactical application without the devastation and long-lasting effects of nuclear weapons and radiation. Non-nuclear devices also make the use of EMP weapons politically preferable to atomic weapons. A large scale EMP effect can be produced by a single nuclear explosion detonated high in the atmosphere. This method is referred to as High-Altitude EMP (HEMP). Russian military doctrine, because HEMP attacks electronics, categorizes nuclear HEMP attack as a dimension of Information Warfare, Electronic Warfare […]

The Turkish leader has objected to either nation’s admission, saying they support Kurdish terrorist groups like the PKK and YPG – allegations Stockholm has denied. “We will soon take new steps regarding the incomplete portions of the project we started on the 30-kilometer deep safe zone we established along our southern border,” Erdogan said, referring to the October 2019 “Operation Peace Spring. Hoot Torpedo What Iran has so does its major supported military wings such as Hezbollah and Al Houthis We do know Tehran acquired some technology 15 years ago. Credible documentary evidence shared by the Federation of American Scientists (FAS) shows that Iran tested the Shkval in the Gulf of Oman in 2004. It traveled 6.5 miles and reached a speed of 212 mph. That is impressive but shorter and slower than widely published specifications for the weapon. Littoral Combat Ships are Breaking Apart at Sea

” Jeremy Covelli As a Marine Engineer myself, I never understood how the Navy approved this design. This fake trimaran design (One hull and two wet sponsons) is terrible for many, many reasons. I suspect the problem here is that the hull is actually too stiff (too strong) and doesn’t have enough flex in the “bridge” that connects the hull to the sponsons. When the sponson comes out of the water, the entire weight it caries pushes down and is put on that hull to bridge connection (I call it the armpit) where it’s cracking. Then when it hits a […]

Hypersonic Weapons: Background and Issues for US Congress

The United States has actively pursued the development of hypersonic weapons—maneuvering weapons that fly at speeds of at least Mach 5—as a part of its conventional prompt global strike program since the early 2000s. In recent years, the United States has focused such efforts on developing hypersonic glide vehicles, which are launched from a rocket before gliding to a target, and hypersonic cruise missiles, which are powered by high-speed, air-breathing engines during flight. As former Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and former Commander of U.S. Strategic Command General John Hyten has stated, these weapons could enable “responsive, […]

Good evening and welcome to “Tucker Carlson Tonight.” Yesterday morning, Joe Biden’s secretary of state, a man called Tony Blinken, went on to the Sunday show over at CBS News to announce new policy toward Russia. Going forward, Blinken explained, the Biden administration will use Poland as a cutout to send fighter jets to the government of Ukraine. Those jets will be used to fight the Russian military. Neoconservatives Are Setting Up the World for Nuclear War

The success of Washington’s perception war and saturation of the CNN/Fox airwaves with condemnation of Russia could lead to hopes that a false flag nuclear event would bring down Putin’s government.  A new Yeltsin installed would return Russia to Washington’s control and leave China, alone, as the next target.  Such an event is not a fantasy.  It is an expression of Stone’s understanding of the neoconservatives commitment to Washington’s hegemony.  Biden officials have made it clear that they are at war with Russia, using Ukraine as a proxy, with the goal of exhausting Russia into weakness and disposing of Putin.   ARTICLE LINK

The Insane Engineering of the Javelin

The world’s premier shoulder-fired anti-armor system, Javelin takes the fight to the enemy. Javelin automatically guides itself to the target after launch, allowing the gunner to take cover and avoid counterfire. Soldiers or Marines can reposition immediately after firing, or reload to engage another threat. Using an arched top-attack profile, Javelin climbs above its target for improved visibility and then strikes where the armor is weakest. To fire, the gunner places a cursor over the selected target. The Javelin command launch unit then sends a lock-on-before-launch signal to the missile. With its soft launch design, Javelin can be safely fired […]

Russian offensive operations in eastern Ukraine made minor advances around Severodonetsk on April 24, seizing several small towns and establishing a pontoon bridge across the Krasna River west of Severodonetsk. Russia’s offensive in eastern Ukraine continues to follow the pattern of their operations throughout the war, using small units to conduct dispersed attacks along multiple axes rather than taking the pauses necessary to prepare for decisive operations. Russian forces continued to bombard the remaining Ukrainian defenders in Mariupol’s Azovstal Steel Plant and may be preparing for renewed assaults on the facility, which would likely lead to high Russian casualties. IRAN CAN BUILD A NUCLEAR BOMB

By David Albright and Sarah Burkhard April 11, 2022 As soon as mid-to-late April, Iran is expected to reach a new dangerous, destabilizing threshold, having enough highly enriched uranium (HEU) to fashion a nuclear explosive, about 40-42 kilograms (kg) of 60 percent enriched uranium (uranium mass).1 With this quantity, an enrichment level of 60 percent suffices to create a relatively compact nuclear explosive; further enrichment to 80 or 90 percent is not needed. According to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), 41.7 kg of 60 percent enriched uranium (uranium mass) is a significant quantity, which the IAEA defines as the “approximate […]

UKRAINE RUSSIAN OFFENSIVE CAMPAIGN ASSESSMENT,

Russian forces continued to settle in for a protracted and stalemated conflict over the last 24 hours, with more reports emerging of Russian troops digging in and laying mines—indications that they have gone over to the defensive. Ukrainian forces continued to conduct limited and effective counterattacks to relieve pressure on Kyiv, although the extent of those counterattacks is likely less than what some Ukrainian officials are claiming. Russian efforts to mobilize additional forces to keep their offensive moving continue to be halting and limited. Russian progress in taking Mariupol city remains slow and grinding. Increasing Russian emphasis on using air, […]

Hezbollah Increasing Operational Intelligence Efforts Among Israeli Arab Citizens

On March 20, it was announced that the Israeli security forces had arrested four Israeli Arab citizens from the Galilee region that were recruited and handled by Hezbollah. Two of them are known drug dealers. Hezbollah’s recruitment is known as unit 133 (which replaced unit 1800) and It is currently highly likely to be headed by Haj Khalil Harb, who also headed unit 1800. Harb was called on to rehabilitate unit 133, which had difficulty fulfilling its central mission: recruiting and operating terrorist infrastructures among Israeli Arabs and Palestinians in Judea and Samaria. UKRAINE RUSSIAN OFFENSIVE CAMPAIGN ASSESSMENT,

Russian Offensive Campaign Assessment, March 18 Ukrainian forces conducted a major successful counterattack around Mykolayiv in the past several days, and Russian forces continued to secure territorial gains only around Mariupol on March 18. The ability of Ukrainian forces to conduct a successful major counterattack indicates Russian forces attempting to encircle Mykolayiv likely overstretched, and Russian forces are unlikely to have the capability to resume offensive operations toward Odesa in the near term. Updated Highlights of Comprehensive Survey of Iran’s Advanced Centrifuges

In the last two years, Iran has been deploying advanced centrifuges in violation of the limits in the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), following a lull of three years created by those limits. Starting in late 2020 or early 2021, it dramatically increased the number of deployed advanced centrifuges. Iran’s rapid deployment of many advanced centrifuges in 2019, including many new models, suggests that centrifuge development work continued during the period when the JCPOA was in force and accelerated secretly at least as soon as the United States ended its participation in the JCPOA in May 2018. Iran’s advanced […]

Russian forces continue to commit war crimes in the city, targeting refugees and civilian infrastructure. The analysis also provides background information on the former Iranian nuclear weapon sites under IAEA investigation. In an important conclusion, the IAEA reports that Iran violated its safeguards agreement by possessing and processing uranium metal at Lavizan-Shian, a site known as Location 2 in previous IAEA NPT compliance reports (see below). The IAEA report also states that inspectors have no additional questions and this issue “could […]

Why did Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett fly to Moscow to “mediate,” between Russia and Ukraine? Why are progressives in the U.S. and the Ukrainian leadership attacking Israel over its position on Russia? In this week’s episode, Caroline spoke with Michael Doran from the Hudson Institute about the way the Biden administration is using the war in Ukraine to demonize Israel and Saudi Arabia as a means to market the nuclear deal with Iran and what Israel the Gulf States, and Turkey can do to withstand the consequences of Biden’s policies.

Russian forces made limited advances around Chernihiv and toward Kyiv’s eastern outskirts after pausing for several days. UKRAINE -RUSSIAN OFFENSIVE CAMPAIGN ASSESSMENT, MARCH 10

The likelihood is increasing that Ukrainian forces could fight to a standstill the Russian ground forces attempting to encircle and take Kyiv. Russian forces also appear to be largely stalemated around Kharkiv and distracted from efforts to seize that city. Russian advances in the south around Mykolayiv and toward Zaporizhya and in the east around Donetsk and Luhansk made little progress as well in the last 24 hours. Russia likely retains much greater combat power in the south and east and will probably renew more effective offensive operations in the coming days, but the effective reach and speed of such […]

Russian Way of War: Force Structure, Tactics

Russia’s 2014 annexation of the Crimean Peninsula, activity in Eastern Ukraine, saberrattling regarding the Baltics, deployment to Syria, and more assertive behavior along its borders have peeked interest in the Russian Armed Forces. This increased interest has caused much speculation about their structure, capabilities, and future development. Interestingly, this speculation has created many different, and often contradictory narratives about these issues. At any given time, assessments of the Russian Armed Forces vary between the idea of an incompetent and corrupt conscript army manning decrepit Soviet equipment and relying solely on brute force, to the idea of an elite military filled […]

The New Face of War: Devastating Drone Attacks in Ukraine

In dramatic video coverage currently going viral on YouTube and TikTok, Ukrainian drones are seen to destroy a Russian convoy, with startling speed — and total impunity. In January of this year, Houthi rebels — backed by Iran — launched two attacks, a week apart, against the UAE, using drones and ballistic missiles. Media attention focused largely on the second attack, which targeted the U.S. base at al-Dhafra, and was — according to the headlines — foiled by Patriot missiles. U.S. interests and U.S. forces are already under attack, and recent incidents should be viewed as an escalating cycle of experimentation by our adversaries. […]

Iranian International Assassination, Surveillance, and Abduction Plots

Over the past forty-plus years, Iran has targeted dissidents, Western opponents, Israelis, and Jews in assassination plots, abduction plots, and surveillance efforts that facilitate both. It has carried out these operations around the world, in countries with strong or weak law enforcement agencies, border crossings, and intelligence services. And it has done so consistently, including at times and places where such actions could undermine its diplomatic efforts, such as negotiations over the nuclear program. This study, based on a dataset of 98 Iranian plots from 1979 through 2021, maps out key trends in Iranian external operations plotting… FULL REPORT

Ukraine – Where Are Russia’s Drones?

Over the past decade, the Russian military has built up an arsenal of reconnaissance drones. They have also developed doctrine and skills by using the drones in Syria, Nagorno-Karabakh, and in eastern Ukraine. Under their standard concept of operations, UAVs act as airborne “eyes and ears”: observing surrounding territory, relaying data between commanders and deployed forces, and identifying and tracking targets that can then be destroyed by anything from an infantry fire squad to a tank to an artillery brigade to a warship. One-Front Strategy –  Iran vs. Israel

ALMA ARTICLE LINK Lebanon is the anchor for Iran’s warfare doctrine against Israel. Lebanon completes the Iranian land bridge from Tehran to the Mediterranean Sea. The whole width of access points for a Land incursion by IDF into Lebanon (in time of conflict) is a hidden labyrinth of fortified positions, overwatching killing fields from multi – directions. Even small team bunkers designed to attack after IDF forces bypass or breakthroughs. Much of this was seen in the 2006 Israel -Hezbollah conflict. These Hezbollah hidden fortifications are death traps no different from the US war in the pacific in WWII against the Japanese […]
