Caroline Glick : Israel and Global Affairs

Since President Biden took office in January 2021, the world has seen dramatic shifts in international affairs and alliances.  From the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, our allies and foes alike are reassessing geopolitical security strategies that have a far greater impact than anyone could have imagined just 18 months ago.  As the Biden administration continues its desperate attempt to re-enter the dangerous Iranian nuclear deal while also re-engaging with Palestinian terrorists who incite internal chaos and threaten violence in Israel, our most important ally on the frontlines of these international conflicts finds itself, once […]

Littoral Combat Ships are Breaking Apart at Sea

” Jeremy Covelli As a Marine Engineer myself, I never understood how the Navy approved this design. This fake trimaran design (One hull and two wet sponsons) is terrible for many, many reasons. I suspect the problem here is that the hull is actually too stiff (too strong) and doesn’t have enough flex in the “bridge” that connects the hull to the sponsons. When the sponson comes out of the water, the entire weight it caries pushes down and is put on that hull to bridge connection (I call it the armpit) where it’s cracking. Then when it hits a […]

Extremism and Illicit Trade in East Africa

Illicit trade networks in East Africa are intimately connected to zones of political instability in neighboring countries, such as Somalia, the Central African Republic and the Democratic Republic of Congo, as well as northern Mozambique. The conflicts in these regions are sustained by a two-way traffic of illicit goods with East Africa. This report demonstrably reveals that illicit trade has also become the principal financier of extremism, funder of criminal enterprises and breeder of corruption in both East Africa and its surrounding regions. Hypersonic Weapons: Background and Issues for US Congress

The United States has actively pursued the development of hypersonic weapons—maneuvering weapons that fly at speeds of at least Mach 5—as a part of its conventional prompt global strike program since the early 2000s. In recent years, the United States has focused such efforts on developing hypersonic glide vehicles, which are launched from a rocket before gliding to a target, and hypersonic cruise missiles, which are powered by high-speed, air-breathing engines during flight. As former Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and former Commander of U.S. Strategic Command General John Hyten has stated, these weapons could enable “responsive, […]

Tucker: We are at war with Russia, whether or not Congress has declared it

Good evening and welcome to “Tucker Carlson Tonight.” Yesterday morning, Joe Biden’s secretary of state, a man called Tony Blinken, went on to the Sunday show over at CBS News to announce new policy toward Russia. Going forward, Blinken explained, the Biden administration will use Poland as a cutout to send fighter jets to the government of Ukraine. Those jets will be used to fight the Russian military. Blinken announced this in a calm, even tone that suggested this was conventional procedure, business as usual, nothing to worry about, just another weekend at the State Department. But in fact, it’s […]

Neoconservatives Are Setting Up the World for Nuclear War

The success of Washington’s perception war and saturation of the CNN/Fox airwaves with condemnation of Russia could lead to hopes that a false flag nuclear event would bring down Putin’s government.  A new Yeltsin installed would return Russia to Washington’s control and leave China, alone, as the next target.  Such an event is not a fantasy.  It is an expression of Stone’s understanding of the neoconservatives commitment to Washington’s hegemony.  Biden officials have made it clear that they are at war with Russia, using Ukraine as a proxy, with the goal of exhausting Russia into weakness and disposing of Putin.   ARTICLE LINK

The Insane Engineering of the Javelin

The world’s premier shoulder-fired anti-armor system, Javelin takes the fight to the enemy. Javelin automatically guides itself to the target after launch, allowing the gunner to take cover and avoid counterfire. Soldiers or Marines can reposition immediately after firing, or reload to engage another threat. Using an arched top-attack profile, Javelin climbs above its target for improved visibility and then strikes where the armor is weakest. To fire, the gunner places a cursor over the selected target. The Javelin command launch unit then sends a lock-on-before-launch signal to the missile. With its soft launch design, Javelin can be safely fired […]

Sledgehammer: How Breaking with the Past Brought Peace to the Middle

Russian offensive operations in eastern Ukraine made minor advances around Severodonetsk on April 24, seizing several small towns and establishing a pontoon bridge across the Krasna River west of Severodonetsk. Russia’s offensive in eastern Ukraine continues to follow the pattern of their operations throughout the war, using small units to conduct dispersed attacks along multiple axes rather than taking the pauses necessary to prepare for decisive operations. Russian forces continued to bombard the remaining Ukrainian defenders in Mariupol’s Azovstal Steel Plant and may be preparing for renewed assaults on the facility, which would likely lead to high Russian casualties. Experts are now predicting fertilizer prices may double due to Russia’s ban on fertilizer exports. Russia is the world’s largest fertilizer exporter, providing about 15 percent of the world’s supply. This month, just as farmers worldwide prepared for planting, Russia told its fertilizer producers to […]

By David Albright and Sarah Burkhard April 11, 2022 As soon as mid-to-late April, Iran is expected to reach a new dangerous, destabilizing threshold, having enough highly enriched uranium (HEU) to fashion a nuclear explosive, about 40-42 kilograms (kg) of 60 percent enriched uranium (uranium mass).1 With this quantity, an enrichment level of 60 percent suffices to create a relatively compact nuclear explosive; further enrichment to 80 or 90 percent is not needed. According to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), 41.7 kg of 60 percent enriched uranium (uranium mass) is a significant quantity, which the IAEA defines as the “approximate […]

Updated Highlights of Comprehensive Survey of Iran’s Advanced Centrifuges

In the last two years, Iran has been deploying advanced centrifuges in violation of the limits in the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), following a lull of three years created by those limits. Starting in late 2020 or early 2021, it dramatically increased the number of deployed advanced centrifuges. Iran’s rapid deployment of many advanced centrifuges in 2019, including many new models, suggests that centrifuge development work continued during the period when the JCPOA was in force and accelerated secretly at least as soon as the United States ended its participation in the JCPOA in May 2018. Israelis, who know all too well what it means to have bigger neighbors determined to erase your nation from the map, are trying to bring an end to the war and help those suffering as a result of the war — but they can’t forget that Putin has military forces stationed just over their northern border in Syria. To discuss these and related issues, Foreign Podicy host Cliff May is joined by FDD Senior Vice President Jonathan Schanzer, recently returned from a week […]

Russian forces secured limited advances east of Kyiv and north from Crimea on March 12 but continue to face logistical challenges, mounting casualties, and sustained Ukrainian counterattacks. Russian forces did not conduct offensive operations northwest of Kyiv in the past 24 hours. Russian forces made limited advances around Chernihiv and toward Kyiv’s eastern outskirts after pausing for several days. Continued Ukrainian counterattacks and successful operations by Ukraine’s Territorial Defense Forces continue to threaten Russia’s long line of communication in northeastern Ukraine. Russian forces captured unspecified “eastern outskirts” of Mariupol on March 12 and continue to shell the city in a likely […]

Iran Launches Multi- Missiles At US Consulate, Erbil Iraq

Iran‘s Revolutionary Guards claimed responsibility for a dozen ballistic missiles that struck Iraq’s northern Kurdish regional capital of Erbil in the early hours of Sunday, Iran‘s state media reported, adding that the attack was against Israeli “strategic centers” in Erbil. IRGC released a statement taking responsibility for the missile attack against Israeli “strategic centers” in Erbil, Iran‘s state media reported. “Any repetition of attacks by Israel will be met with a harsh, decisive and destructive response,” the Revolutionary Guard said in a statement reported by state media. The missiles, which targeted the Iraq Erbil U.S. Consulate‘s new building and a neighboring residential area, […]

The likelihood is increasing that Ukrainian forces could fight to a standstill the Russian ground forces attempting to encircle and take Kyiv. Russian forces also appear to be largely stalemated around Kharkiv and distracted from efforts to seize that city. Russian advances in the south around Mykolayiv and toward Zaporizhya and in the east around Donetsk and Luhansk made little progress as well in the last 24 hours. Russia likely retains much greater combat power in the south and east and will probably renew more effective offensive operations in the coming days, but the effective reach and speed of such […]

U.S. intelligence shows Iran threats on U.S. soil

Yet the 2022 Threat Assessment means nothing when it comes to the Iran Nuclear Deal The U.S. intelligence community has assessed that Iran will threaten Americans — both directly and via proxy attacks — and that Tehran remains committed to developing networks inside the U.S., according to the intelligence community’s 2022 Annual Threat Assessment, published Tuesday by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI). Iran will be far more dangerous after the Biden Administration signs off on the Russia-China brokered Iran nuclear deal. A deal that floods the terror state with tens of billions of dollars in sanctions relief. […]

President Biden Releases 9-11 Terrorist

The mainstream media opted to ignore entirely what should be the Biden administration’s latest scandal. Called the “20th hijacker” of September 11th, Mohammad Ahmad al-Qahtani was flown back to Saudi Arabia on Monday from Guantanamo Bay, where he had been in custody for 20 years. He was suspected of trying to join the 9/11 hijackers on Flight 93, which had four hijackers, while all the other hijacked planes had five.  Al-Qathani was turned away from the U.S. in August 2001 at the Orlando airport thanks to immigration officers suspicious of his travel. Putin Grounding Russian Civilian Airline Flights “Aeroflot informs about a temporary suspension of all international flights starting 8 March (00:00 MSK) due to new additional circumstances impeding the operation of flights,” read a statement on the airline’s website. “Passengers of cancelled international flights are eligible for a full refund of tickets,” it said. There is no need for passengers of cancelled flights to immediately contact the airline for a refund, as this can be done at any time before the end of 2022 or tickets can be rebooked on another route for free, said the airline. “Passengers of international flights […]

Analysis of IAEA Iran Verification and Monitoring Report –

This report summarizes and assesses information in the International Atomic Energy Agency’s (IAEA) quarterly safeguards report for March 3, 2022, Verification and monitoring in the Islamic Republic of Iran in light of United Nations Security Council resolution 2231 (2015), including Iran’s compliance with the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA). The IAEA’s latest report details Iran’s rapidly advancing nuclear activities and inspectors’ diminished ability to detect Iranian diversion of assets to undeclared facilities. Due to the growth of Iran’s 20 and 60 percent enriched uranium stocks, breakout timelines have become dangerously short, far shorter than just a few months ago. […]

Hamas’s Growing Front in Lebanon

This 2021 Alma report exposes the true scope of Hamas’s military activities in Lebanon. Ultimately, Hamas’s objective is to create an additional front against Israel, which will allow it flexibility and other attack options besides its stronghold in the Gaza Strip. Based on an array of open sources, the report identifies the principal senior political and military Hamas leaders active on Lebanese territory, the organization’s multiple military projects, and working plans. It also identifies the locations of some of Hamas’s key Lebanese military sites. Lebanon has become an important training and recruitment area for the Hamas Iranian axis, from the […]

Russian Way of War: Force Structure, Tactics

Russia’s 2014 annexation of the Crimean Peninsula, activity in Eastern Ukraine, saberrattling regarding the Baltics, deployment to Syria, and more assertive behavior along its borders have peeked interest in the Russian Armed Forces. This increased interest has caused much speculation about their structure, capabilities, and future development. Interestingly, this speculation has created many different, and often contradictory narratives about these issues. At any given time, assessments of the Russian Armed Forces vary between the idea of an incompetent and corrupt conscript army manning decrepit Soviet equipment and relying solely on brute force, to the idea of an elite military filled […]

The New Face of War: Devastating Drone Attacks in Ukraine

In dramatic video coverage currently going viral on YouTube and TikTok, Ukrainian drones are seen to destroy a Russian convoy, with startling speed — and total impunity. In January of this year, Houthi rebels — backed by Iran — launched two attacks, a week apart, against the UAE, using drones and ballistic missiles. Media attention focused largely on the second attack, which targeted the U.S. base at al-Dhafra, and was — according to the headlines — foiled by Patriot missiles. U.S. interests and U.S. forces are already under attack, and recent incidents should be viewed as an escalating cycle of experimentation by our adversaries. […]

Ukraine Conflict Update

Russian forces resumed offensive operations in support of their envelopment of Kyiv on March 2 but made few territorial advances. Russian forces resumed offensive operations on both axes of advance toward Kyiv after largely pausing for 72 hours to reinforce and resupply their troops north and west of Kyiv. Russian operations to envelop Kyiv are Moscow’s main effort. Russian troops are also undertaking three supporting efforts, one to seize Kharkiv, one to take Mariupol and secure the “land bridge” connecting Rostov-on-Don to Crimea, and one to secure Kherson and set conditions for a drive west toward Mykolayiv and Odesa. The three […]

Iranian International Assassination, Surveillance, and Abduction Plots

Over the past forty-plus years, Iran has targeted dissidents, Western opponents, Israelis, and Jews in assassination plots, abduction plots, and surveillance efforts that facilitate both. It has carried out these operations around the world, in countries with strong or weak law enforcement agencies, border crossings, and intelligence services. And it has done so consistently, including at times and places where such actions could undermine its diplomatic efforts, such as negotiations over the nuclear program. This study, based on a dataset of 98 Iranian plots from 1979 through 2021, maps out key trends in Iranian external operations plotting… FULL REPORT

Ukraine – Where Are Russia’s Drones?

Over the past decade, the Russian military has built up an arsenal of reconnaissance drones. They have also developed doctrine and skills by using the drones in Syria, Nagorno-Karabakh, and in eastern Ukraine. Under their standard concept of operations, UAVs act as airborne “eyes and ears”: observing surrounding territory, relaying data between commanders and deployed forces, and identifying and tracking targets that can then be destroyed by anything from an infantry fire squad to a tank to an artillery brigade to a warship. Golan Heights

Russia on Thursday condemned what it called the “Israeli occupation” of the Golan Heights and said it does not recognize Israel’s sovereignty in the region. The statement came following Israel’s first official statement of support for Ukraine in the unfolding crisis and appeared to be a Russian message to Israel. Moscow no longer recognize Jewish sovereignty over the Golan heights in northern Syria. Moscow holds much sway in Syria and allows Jerusalem freedom of action in the country to prevent Iranian entrenchment along its northern border as part of the tight security cooperation between the countries. Russia criticized Israeli settlement […]

Biden’s Disastrous Iran Deal

Exclusive: Biden Finalizes Terrible New Iran Deal Several sources in the negotiating team in Vienna tell Cockburn we can expect a “new Iran deal” between the Biden administration and the mullahs as early as Thursday morning. For the last few months, Iran has been behaving stubbornly in negotiations, refusing to back down from its “red lines,” including lifting sanctions on Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. Instead, it’s kept to the original timeline on the Iran deal, which would allow it to test ballistic missiles next year and remove all restrictions by 2030. ARTICLE LINK

One-Front Strategy –  Iran vs. Israel

ALMA ARTICLE LINK Lebanon is the anchor for Iran’s warfare doctrine against Israel. Lebanon completes the Iranian land bridge from Tehran to the Mediterranean Sea. The whole width of access points for a Land incursion by IDF into Lebanon (in time of conflict) is a hidden labyrinth of fortified positions, overwatching killing fields from multi – directions. Even small team bunkers designed to attack after IDF forces bypass or breakthroughs. Much of this was seen in the 2006 Israel -Hezbollah conflict. These Hezbollah hidden fortifications are death traps no different from the US war in the pacific in WWII against the Japanese […]

Last year’s conflict between Hamas and Israel generated headlines around the world – most of which ignored critical components of the history, funding, and political dynamics at play. Gaza Conflict 2021: Hamas, Israel and Eleven Days of War, the first book published on the May confrontation, provides crucial context and overlooked details of this war. The Islamic Republic of Iran provides Hamas with financial assistance, as well as training and weapons, and regards Gaza as part of its expanding empire. Given Iran’s significant influence on this territory, more intense violence in the Gaza strip is a foregone conclusion. Thereby, Gaza […]

Russian Navy Build Up In Mediterranean

10 Feb 2022 Video Report Unscripted and unedited, just raw knowledge sharing. Explains Russian Navy ships, submarines and missile batteries in the Mediterranean. These are there to counter NATO and US Navy aircraft carriers and warships, regarding tensions surrounding Ukraine. Describes the weapons and why they are important.

Russian Carrier Killers

If the Ukraine situation goes up in smoke, the Mediterranean could become a front line between Russian and NATO navies. NATO has three carriers there. The largest is the US Navy’s Nimitz Class supercarrier USS Harry Truman, followed by the Marine Nationale’s Charles de Gaulle. Italy’s Cavour makes up the group. They are now facing two Russian Navy surface groups led by SLAVA Class cruisers, and conventional submarine ops out of Syria. Russia of course has a particular focus on anti-carrier capabilities. With the historical carrier imbalance vis-à-vis the US Navy, Russia has developed a wide range of powerful anti-ship […]

 Russia’s Anti-Ship Capabilities, Mediterranean & Black Sea

Russian Naval activity in Mediterranean and Black Seas has been increasing. Although generally explained away as ‘drills’, this is closely linked to the build-up off Ukraine. Surface groups from the Atlantic, Pacific and Baltic fleets have been called in. Possibly submarines too. This tracker, compiled with Damien Symon (Twitter) and aided by others, is intended to give the big picture. Positions and range rings are approximate, obvious caveats apply. It should provide a general understanding of the scope and scale of Russian anti-ship weapons in the region. There are currently two cruiser-led groups operating in the Mediterranean, one at each end. This […]

Motostrelki ’22: Russian Infantry Tactics & Structure

Here is a summary of changes that were alleged to have been made as part of the “New Look” reforms and some caveats: 1. BMP Company HQs were reduced from 2 vehicles to 1 vehicle. Personnel remained the same except the removal of the spare Mechanic-Driver and Gunner-Operator. While the video shows 1 vehicle in the Company HQ in accordance with our most up-to-date sources, I would not be surprised if 2 vehicles was still a practice in some units to keep the HQ vehicles from getting too cramped. 2. PKP/PKM general-purpose machine gun replaces the RPK-74 as the main […]

Institute for the Study of War; Ukraine Crisis

ISW have identified a new course of action since our previous examination of Russian options that Putin is preparing and may pursue in conjunction with an overt move into occupied Donbas: an air and missile campaign, possibly extensive, throughout unoccupied Ukraine. We have observed indicators that he is preparing this option. We assess that such an air campaign in unoccupied Ukraine is significantly more likely than an invasion intended to seize large areas of unoccupied Ukraine, including Kyiv and other major cities. Putin could initiate the air and missile campaign and/or limited ground incursions in southeastern and southern Ukraine before […]

U.N. Human Rights Council vs Israel

In July 2020, the Israeli government, with the support of U.S. President Donald Trump, authorized the establishment of the EastMed pipeline. Five Consequential Findings about Iran Nuclear Program

Iran can have enough weapon-grade uranium for a nuclear weapon in as little as three weeks. As of November 2021, Iran had enough enriched uranium hexafluoride (UF6) in the form of near 20 and 60 percent enriched uranium to produce enough weapon-grade uranium (WGU), taken here as 25 kilograms, for a single nuclear weapon in as little as three weeks. It could do so without using any of its stock of uranium enriched up to 5 percent as feedstock. The growth of Iran’s stocks of near 20 and 60 percent enriched uranium has dangerously reduced breakout timelines. FULL REPORT

In this week’s episode of the Caroline Glick Mideast News Hour, Caroline was joined by Moishik Kovarsky, a tech guru who has collated the data collected by a group of more than a hundred volunteers who have analyzed all the prosecutions’ claims against Netanyahu and discovered their overwhelming falsity. Moishik compiled a timeline of the operation to oust Netanyahu. He walked Caroline through its stages from its beginning after the Likud victory in the 2015 elections through today. This shocking information that has never been revealed to the non-Hebrew speaking public.

Tehran’s Ties With Beijing and Moscow

In 2021, the Islamic Republic signed a long-term agreement with China, and is set to renew a long-term agreement with Moscow, putting Iranian ties with the two powers in the spotlight. The Supreme Leader and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) have long favored a “Look to The East” approach, aspiring to form strategic ties with Russia and China, especially in the face of Western and U.S. pressure. The incoming administration of President Ebrahim Raisi is in line with that outlook. Reformists and centrists have not opposed good ties with Russia and China, even as they are more pessimistic toward Russia and have preferred better […]

A Korean War the Naval Aspect

A Second Korean War Could Be a Naval War Like No Other in Decades – Back just last year, two of South Korea’s largest shipbuilders unveiled designs and concept models for the country’s future aircraft carrier, known as CVX, 100 surface warships, 10 amphibious ships, 18 submarines, and 60 aircraft. Many of its surface vessels have vertical launch systems and advanced electronic suites that put them on par with the best warships in the world. According to South Korea’s Ministry of Defense, North Korea’s navy, officially known as the Korean People’s Navy, or KPN, has 430 surface combatants (mostly patrol vessels), 70 submarines, […]

Israel’s Offensive Capabilities in the Context of a Nuclear Iran

Webinar: On October 25th, the Center for Security Policy is pleased to host Brig. General (Ret.) Yosef Kupperwasser and Brig. General (Ret.) Amir Avivi of the Israeli Defense Forces in a webinar discussion of Israel’s offensive capabilities in light of Iran’s accelerating nuclear program. While the focus in Washington has been on the groundbreaking Israeli missile defense programs that have saved so many lives, this webinar will broaden the conversation to the offensive capabilities that may be required should Iran threaten a nuclear breakout. Generals Kupperwasser and Avivi, of Israel’s Defense and Security Forum, have both held senior positions across […]

A Permanent UN Inquisition Against Israel

At the UN General Assembly last week, a large majority of member nations voted to lavishly fund a permanent inquisition against the Jewish state. The member states funded the operation of an “ongoing independent, international commission of inquiry” against Israel. The commission, run by outspoken haters of Israel with long records of demonizing the State of Israel and its people, was formed by the UN Human Rights Council in a special session in May. Its purpose is to deny and reject Israel’s right to exist, its right to self-defense, its right to enforce its laws, and its citizens rights to […]

Iran “Exo-Atmospheric Trajectory Maneuvering Technology” for its Ballistic Missiles

On the last day of the “Great Prophet 17” exercise, Iran unveiled for the first time the exo-atmospheric trajectory maneuvering technology of its detachable warheads for Qadr medium-range ballistic missile. The technology or maneuverability of warhead outside atmosphere is performed with the help of pressurized gas thrusts or dual liquid fuel, and by changing the direction of the warhead, the trajectory is variable, and the exact direction of the warhead is unpredictable. Therefore, this capability greatly reduces the chances of an air defense missile hitting a warhead. The exo-atmospheric trajectory maneuvering technology, in addition to increase accuracy, guiding and maneuvering […]

Iran’s New Drone Swarm Shahed-136

Iran has called these types of drones a “suicide drone,” or kamikaze drone. This means they fly into a target and self-destruct. These types of drones have been mentioned before but have not been shown in such close-up detail. This was the first time this type of drone was mentioned in overseas deployment. Prior to this, Iran had built kamikaze drones, but this specific type had not been seen in public military drills. ARTICLE- VIDEO LINK  https://www.jpost.com/middle-east/article-689785/

Iran’s UAV Army: A Global Threat

By Tal Beeri  The purpose of this special report is to present the existing threat deriving from the Iranian “UAV army” in the Middle East. In addition to the direct use of the “UAV Army” by the Iranians themselves, the threat manifests itself in the extent of the arsenal, the deployment and accessibility of “UAV army” for use by Iran’s proxies in Lebanon (Hezbollah and Hamas), in Syria (Hezbollah and Shiite axis militias), in Iraq (Shiite axis militias), in Yemen (Houthis) and in the Gaza Strip (Hamas and Islamic Jihad). IDF Maneuver Warfare

If there is another military campaign in the north, the IDF will have to shorten the duration of the conflict – otherwise the cost to the home front will be intolerable. Achieving this goal will not be possible without forceful and decisive ground maneuver. Decisions on IDF force buildup will determine whether the army is prepared for maneuvering of this sort. This was delineated two and a half years ago in a document by the chairmen of the relevant subcommittees of the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense committee, and today it is more relevant than ever REPORT LINK https://www.inss.org.il/publication/idf-maneuver/

Iran’s Ballistic Missile Arsenal Is Still Growing in Size, Reach, and Accuracy

Tehran has doubled down on the strategic importance of missile systems that can threaten U.S. forces and allies, even as its defensive justifications for such an arsenal ring more hollow than ever. The Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) is faced with the challenge of preparing for future warfare during peacetime as a force that lacks contemporary operational experience. Among the methods through which the PLA seeks to enhance its combat readiness are sophisticated wargaming and realistic, force-on-force exercises. Chinese military leaders regard wargaming (bingqi tuiyan, 兵棋推演) as an important technique by which to “learn warfare from the laboratory” for training purposes and to promote insights on the dynamics of future combat. This style of learning is complemented by the PLA’s study of military history and emulation of the experiences and innovations of […]

Turkey’s Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Islamism

Iran’s Centrifuges: Models and Status

Iran possesses thousands of gas centrifuges that are the mainstay of its nuclear program. Gas centrifuges spin uranium hexafluoride gas (UF6) to separate uranium isotopes suitable for nuclear fuel, a process known as uranium enrichment. The number and capacity of these machines determine Iran’s “breakout” time: how long it would take Iran—if it decided to do so—to produce the fuel for a small nuclear arsenal. The machines are also key to Iran’s ability to “sneakout” by producing nuclear weapon fuel at secret sites.  REPORT LINK https://www.iranwatch.org/our-publications/weapon-program-background-report/irans-centrifuges-models-status

Is China Hiding Missiles In Containerships Worldwide ?

A stunning new report claims that China has been “secretly developing Trojan Horse-style missiles hidden in shipping containers” at a time when shipping and logistics is a key global focus. The new allegations, raised in a report by The U.S. Sun, state that the missiles could be “unleased on enemy ports” and would be disguised amongst the country’s massive fleet of freighters and fishing vessels – which could then be “turned into warships” using the secret missiles. The missiles could “blend in seamlessly” with hundreds of other containers on board ships, the report says. The shipping vessels are tougher to pinpoint than […]

Growing threat of drone warfare in the Middle East

Iran’s Air Force has not been able to sustain whatever level it had until the late 1970’s, as under the Islamic Republic its planes are poorly-maintained and pilots have not demonstrated any proficiency. The solution is the ubiquitous Unmanned Aerial Systems operated by Iranians and proxies alike – from Iran itself, Iraq, Yemen, Syria, Lebanon and Gaza. Used against stationary or slow-moving land and maritime targets, drones enabled the Iranian to deliver munitions from afar without losing aircrew and with them deniability. Last month Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz listed 16 such attacks over the last couple of years. How effective is […]

Russian and Chinese Efforts to Encircle Japan

Intensifying Russian and Chinese joint military activities around Japan are intended to cow Tokyo into timidity. They are likely to have the opposite effect. China’s Quest For Military & Economic Dominance Of International Deep Sea-beds

Science of Strategy, a premier Chinese military journal connected to its National Defense University, noted the economic value of the deep seabed as early as 2015 and spoke of “military struggle in the deep sea” as a future warfare domain. Revisions to the country’s National Security Law that year also flagged the deep seabed as an area of national interest for Beijing. As in the Arctic and Antarctic, China’s interest in economic dominance of the deep seabed has a significant military component. In 2018, a Ministry of National Defense document identified the domains relevant to the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) for future global operations. In addition to traditional […]

This past Sunday, July 11, 2021, the usual gaggle of “Jewish advocacy groups” gathered in Washington, DC, posturing and prattling on, allegedly against anti-Semitism, “in solidarity with the Jewish people.” As is their collective wont, once again, these groups blithely ignored any honest discussion of the overwhelmingly disproportionate source of contemporary Jew-hatred: Muslim Jew-hatred, animated by mainstream, doctrinal Islam. Russian Concept of Hybrid War and Why it Matters for US Policy

Russian leaders and policymakers use the term “hybrid war” to refer to a very specific type of conflict, while their counterparts in the West tend to use that same term in a general sense to refer to different kinds of conflict that include a mix of conventional and asymmetrical means. US leaders cannot allow this semantic difference to go unexamined because those same Russian leaders believe they are on the defensive side of a hybrid war perpetrated by the West against Russia. Failing to appreciate the nuances of the Russian interpretation of hybrid war is therefore akin to ignoring a […]

Reflections on Iran’s Production of 60% Enriched Uranium [1]

Iran’s activity must be viewed as practicing breakout to make enriched uranium for use in nuclear weapons. It is learning to make such material more quickly and developing valuable experience in doing so. This experience also complicates returning to the JCPOA, since that experience cannot be destroyed. As a result, some compensating actions are needed or a number of sanctions should be left in place to compensate for this irreversible gain in violation of the JCPOA. Often lost in the debate is that 60% enriched uranium can be used directly in a nuclear explosive, although 90% is preferred. Iran now […]
