Jerusalem’s Political Instability

With the vote count in Israel’s parliamentary elections formally over and published in the Official Gazette, the focus has shifted to the President’s House in the nation’s Capital where Reuven Rivlin – due to retire in three months – consults with the 13 parties elected to the incoming Knesset, Hebrew for Parliament, in order to settle on a nominee able to form a new government. Several candidates are jockeying for power – and if they all fail the country will be subjected to a 5th election campaign in a little over 2 years.
